Chiselborough Extension.

The project started in the spring by reduce digging the garden area and forming the new sweeping steps up to the parking and garage to be able to remove the original steps. Access was very poor on this project, vehicular access at the top, and pedestrian access to the side passage way. So in order to build the extension, the neighbouring wall was removed (with permission) and a machine bought in through the neighbours garden.

Some 300 tonnes of spoil was removed via the side passageway.

Raft foundations were poured with a pump from the top and a new reinforced retaining wall built to engineers specification. The extension was set within the bank, therefore the walls and floors were tanked to basement standard. Due to height differences for the drainage, a pump was installed in the garden to enable a new utility and downstairs toilet to be made. The extension had bi-fold doors and rooflights to let the natural light in.

This project not only looks stunning from the outside, but looks equally good internally. Underfloor heating was installed in the extension and original kitchen and finished off with tiling. The lighting scheme both internally and externally makes this extension look equally attractive in the day or night.
